How to apply

There are two ways to let us know you want to work for HBOS:

Search and Apply

By clicking on Search and Apply you'll be able to select a specific vacancy and apply for it. You’ll be taken through the process step-by-step using our 'Application Wizard'. This generally takes half an hour to complete, depending on how much detail you want to give us. You might want to attach a CV or other information that you think may be helpful.

The best way to search for a vacancy is to enter the job reference number for the vacancy. If you don't have a number, don't worry. You can enter the County or Town in the Keyword Search box. Please remember to click Reset before every new search.

When you've finished you'll be asked to submit your application. We'll then consider you for the job and one of our recruitment team will contact you within three days of receiving your application.

Register

When you click Register your interest you'll be asked to provide a user name and password. This will allow you to access your details whenever you want and update them if you need to. You'll also be given some personal pages that you can use to tell us as about yourself and the type of job you’re interested in. You can build a personal profile, tell us where you’d like to work and what your salary expectations are. If you've got an up to date CV in either of the formats below, why not attach it to your profile?

  • *.doc (Word)
  • *.rtf (general text formats)
  • *.pdf (PDF)
  • *.txt (text files)
  • *.ppt (PowerPoint)
  • *.xls (Excel)

In order for our recruiters to be able to match your details to the most appropriate job it's really important that you provide as much detail as possible about your desired job, desired location and salary expectations. The more detail you provide the better! As soon as you have released your profile, our recruiters will start to look at jobs on your behalf and will contact you with the details. You can release your profile by clicking on the 'Profile Release' section and selecting on the 'Release Profile' radio button. It's worth noting that whilst your profile is locked our recruiters don't have access to your details and will be unable to contact you. Registering can take anything from ten minutes to an hour, depending on how much you want to tell us. And don't forget - you can also apply for specific vacancies as they come up through the 'Jobs' section of your personal pages.
