Area Sales Manager

An overview of the role

Our retail business is very much sales-focused and we're pretty successful at it too. We believe a lot of it has to do with the products we're able to offer our customers. And in this operational sales management role, you'll build on the success of these products by coaching and motivating your branch managers (and their teams) to deliver against their sales targets.

Other key responsibilities

Spending around 80% of your time in branches, you'll implement sales procedures, ensure the highest standard of customer service is consistently provided across all outlets in the area, continually review the performance of your teams and set sales, revenue generation and cost objectives. You'll also manage risk across your branches and ensure compliance with all legislative and regulatory requirements. Plus you'll take a leading role in the implementation of any change within your area.

The skills and experience you'll need

  • A track record of driving and delivering high levels of sales in a customer-focused banking or finance environment.
  • Strong people management skills.
  • The ability to spot trends and act on the opportunities they present.
  • A willingness to roll your sleeves up and get personally involved in the coaching and development of your teams.
  • The ability to communicate with and inspire colleagues at all levels.
  • To be sales focused while still maintaining the highest standards of customer service.
