Branch Manager

An overview of the role

Taking charge of one of our 1,000 high street branches, you'll motivate your team, drive sales and lead the way in delivering excellent customer service. You'll ultimately be responsible for your branch's performance and, in return, you'll gain from its success.

Other key responsibilities

A big part of your role will be to coach your team to help them develop the skills they need to meet and exceed their targets. You'll also work closely with your Area Sales Manager to put together a plan for achieving your sales goals. It's important that you're visible to both customers and colleagues, and it will be your responsibility to create a culture that encourages sales, but not at the expense of great service. You'll also build relationships with local businesses and look out for ways to introduce them to the benefits of our various products.

The skills and experience you'll need:

  • Several years' management experience in a retail banking or finance environment.
  • To be sales focused while still maintaining the highest standards of customer service.
  • A balanced approach to business priorities, helping colleagues understand how service and risk are linked to quality sales.
  • Excellent communication skills that will enable you to give clear feedback and guidance to colleagues.
  • A hands-on management style that will inspire every member of your branch team to achieve their sales goals.
  • The ability to create an enjoyable, friendly and high-achieving branch environment.
