As a new force in the unsecured lending market, HBOS Personal Lending consists of both the Credit Card and Loans Operations.

With over 2000 colleagues across several locations - two sites in Cardiff, Chester, Dunfermline, Halifax, Leeds and Reading, HBOS Personal Lending offers great value consumer products backed by quality Customer Service from their sales and service professionals.

Marketing

Having issued 1.4m new credit cards in 2004, HBOS Personal Lending is one of the leading card providers in the UK.

Responsible for all aspects of consumer marketing, the team based in Cardiff Bay and Reading oversee acqusition, new product development and ongoing management of the existing customer portfolio. They work closely with colleagues in the sales teams to understand and optimise the distribution channels available to them and similarly work closely with Risk to ensure the business is lending responsibly.

Risk

The growing team of internationally experienced Risk professionals work closely with their colleagues in Marketing to ensure new products are engineered with key risk management principles at their heart, while ensuring the business is lending responsibly.

The Risk team are responsible for the creation and implementation of a whole range of risk management policies and procedures, to help the business manage risk with reward.

Sales, Operations & Change

Recently formed to optimise sales and distribution channels, Sales, Operations and Change includes all aspects of external sales. From a dedicated team who support sales in the branch network, to the Partnerships, Affinities and Joint Venture relationship teams who handle credit card and loan portfolios of some leading UK organisations such as AA and Sainsbury's.

The department combines the sales force with Operations & Change, in an innovative approach that links sales technique with operational know-how and links the sales & service centres in Cardiff Gate, Chester and Dunfermline together. Bringing the sales arm together with our operational centres of excellence mean a twofold return as we optimise sales while consistently offering the customer even more choice and value for money.

The change function, which is led by experienced professionals is joined to the whole business in order to drive the change calendar effectively and manage business-wide projects, to meet operational needs.

An IT team in Cardiff Bay work in partnership with colleagues in Sales, Operations & Change and the other departments, in order to manage the technology and infrastructure required by the business.

HR

While local HR teams support Personal Lending colleagues in Chester, Halifax and Leeds, colleagues in Cardiff, Dunfermline and Reading are part of the Retail-wide HR Shared Service initiative.

HR roles in these areas include those of HR Business Partners who provide a partnering role within their business areas, helping develop talent, build succession plans and ultimately work with the business to deliver their strategic objectives.
